School Uniform
Uniform
Our aim is to remove any ambiguity regarding what can be worn to school while still offering children some choice in their clothing for different activities. We have also made it clear that branded items are not allowed. This decision is intended to eliminate the "have" versus "have not" mentality that can sometimes arise, promoting equality among all students, regardless of their family's financial situation.
We understand that managing uniforms for various activities, such as PE and Forest School, can be challenging. To simplify this, we have decided that children will wear the same type of clothing throughout the week, including days when they have PE or Forest School. This means a change of clothes during the day should not be necessary. Children can wear any of the following every day:
|
Bottoms |
Black/navy blue leggings or joggers or dark grey/black school trousers/skirts/pinafores. In the summer black or navy blue shorts or blue checked summer dresses. |
|
Top |
White polo shirt. Navy blue sweatshirt/jumper/cardigan or fleece (no hoods please). If you wish to include the school logo, great, but this is not a requirement. |
|
Footwear |
Black school shoes, or plain black or white trainers. |
|
PE |
Black or navy blue leggings, joggers or shorts. Coloured PE top (house colour). Black or navy blue sweatshirt. |
|
Forest School |
Same as above Legs and arms must be covered. This it to protect the children from cuts and stings. On a Forest School day, children will need a change of clothes if it is wet and muddy. They will also need waterproofs. Nothing should be branded – there must be no logos, other than the school logo, on any of the clothing. |
|
Rucksacks |
A school bag no bigger than 40cm Our cloakrooms are not very big and the larger rucksacks do not fit on the pegs easily. |
|
Jewellery |
Children should not wear jewellery to school. If children have their ears pierced, they can wear a small pair of studs, but on PE days and Forest School days these need to be taken out. If your child is not comfortable taking earrings out, please take them out before school. If you plan to pierce your child’s ears, we recommend piercing at the start of the summer holidays so there is enough time for the healing process and the safe removal of stud earrings on PE and Forest School days. |
|
Watches |
Children are permitted to wear a watch to school, but we do not allow smart watches. |
|
Long Hair |
Long hair must be tied back with a small, discrete navy or white accessories. |
Please ensure all items are clearly named.
Plain uniform can be purchased from various retailers , if you wish to order items with the school logo, these can be found here: My Clothing
